From Baylor Athletic's Department:
WACO, Texas – Baylor guard L.J. Rose will transfer after playing in 33 games as a freshman on the men's basketball team, head coach Scott Drew announced Wednesday.
Rose averaged 0.9 points, 1.2 assists and 0.6 steals in 7.5 minutes per game during his debut season with the Bears. His best game came when he had a double-double with 14 points and 12 assists in a career-high 35 minutes on Jan. 19 against Hardin-Simmons.
"We really appreciate L.J. Rose's contributions to this season's NIT championship team," head coach Scott Drew said. "He's a tremendous young man from a great family, and we support him and wish him well as he moves on to the next chapter of his life."
Rose's departure leaves Baylor with six returning letterwinners from the 2012-13 team that finished 23-14 and won the postseason NIT championship. The Bears return seniors Brady Heslip, Gary Franklin and Cory Jefferson and sophomores Isaiah Austin, Rico Gathers and Taurean Prince.
