Fire Hits Lacy Lakeview Motel

LACY LAKEVIEW, TX (KXXV) -

No one was hurt, but at least six units were destroyed by a fire at the Everyday Inn in Lacy Lakeview Thursday evening.  Smoke could easily be seen by drivers on nearby I-35.

The flames started in one unit just after 6 p.m. and quickly spread to another, eventually damaging three apartments on the first floor and three more above those, according to acting Fire Chief Patty Faulkner.

There were adults in the unit, but no children, and everyone was able to get out safely.  Witnesses saw flames shooting from a lower floor unit at that motel at 1008 E. Crest Drive.

The cause is undetermined, but Chief Faulkner, who is also the Fire Marshal, said there was no evidence of any drugs in the unit where the fire started.

Bellmead and Waco first responders helped Lacy Lakeview firefighters battle the blaze.
