Coryell County neighborhood to present plan for paved roads to commissioners

A Copperas Cove neighborhood may finally have their public roads paved after a long battle with the county.

Neighbors of Sunset Estates met with County Judge John Firth, County Attorney Brandon Belt, and Commissioner Jack Wall earlier this week about creating a road district to maintain public roads in the county.

City officials and neighbors of the small community created a plan that will be presented at the Coryell County Commissioners meeting on Monday.

If the county approves the proposal, the road district will be placed on the November ballot for county residents to vote on. If the road district is passed, it will possibly raise taxes.
