Temple man arrested for leaving children unattended

TEMPLE -

A 29-year-old man has been arrested after leaving his young children unattended at his Temple home. The incident happened on Saturday at a home in the 2900 block of W. Avenue R.

A witness called police to them that two children were left unattended outside of the home. The youngest child was found near the roadway and the other child was on the porch.

The witness tried to knock on the door to return the children, but no one came to answer.

About an hour after receiving the initial report the children's father, Vincent Alonzo Corson, arrived at the scene. He told authorities that he had left the children at home alone while he went to get them something to eat.

Corson was charged with abandoning or endangering a child with intent to return. He was arrested by the Temple Police Department without incident later that day.
