FEMA to reimburse those displaced from West explosion

West residents whose homes were destroyed during the West fertilizer plant explosion are getting help from FEMA. The Federal Emergency Management Association says they are now giving money to West residents who are forced to stay in hotels.

FEMA will pay the cost of rooms and taxes directly to the hotel. The federal program will be calling residents to let them know they qualify.

This initial assistance will be available until May 18th, but the program does not reimburse already incurred hotel expenses.
