A Midway High School senior has won a national award for photography out of 2,500 entries. Nathan Jaquith won the Walsworth Yearbook Publishing Company Award for Feature Photography for his photograph of a Midway football coach consoling a player after their last game.

The nationwide contest involved professional judges and a Facebook voting campaign.

Jaquith was awarded a $100 Visa gift card, a letter from the Walsworth president, Don Walsworth, a large plaque, and a pizza party lunch for the yearbook staff.

Jaquith is currently the photo editor of the Midway High School yearbook and a third-year staff member. He plans to attend McLennan Community College after graduation, and later hopes to transfer to The Pratt Institute in New York.

His long-term professional goal is to work in photography.
