Friends and family gather for fallen brothers

Friends and family gathered Monday morning to celebrate the lives of Doug and Robert Snokhous. The Snokhous brothers were among the first responders killed in the blast.

50-year-old Doug Snokhous had been a firefighter with the West Fire Department for more than 15 years. He was also a shop supervisor at the Central Texas Iron Works in Waco, where he worked for the past 29 years.

Doug Snokhous graduated from West High School in 1980. He is survived by his wife of 12 years, Donna, two daughters, three stepchildren, grandson and three step grandchildren.

48-year-old Capt. Robert Snokhous had worked at the Central Texas Iron Works in Waco as a project manager for almost 20 years. He graduated from West High School in 1982 and received an associate degree from Texas State Technical College in Waco.

He is survived by his wife of 13 years, Alison, a son, two daughters and two grandchildren.

In a statement the Snokhous family said, "We are comforted they were together at the end."
