IRVING, Texas (AP) - Authorities say at least two people are dead after a chartered bus overturned on a North Texas highway.
Texas Department of Public Safety Trooper Lonny Haschel says the bus was on its way to a casino when it slid off the busy highway Thursday morning in Irving, just east of Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport.
Haschel says two people were killed and several others were injured. He says about 30 people were aboard the bus.
The bus belongs to Cardinal Coach Line. A man who answered the phone at the company confirmed the bus' ownership but declined further comment.
The bus tipped on its side in the center median along State Highway 161. Emergency workers were using emergency exits on top of the bus to get to passengers.
