STILLWATER, Okla. – Due to unfavorable weather conditions, Sunday's series finale between Baylor and No. 20 Oklahoma State has been cancelled. There will be no makeup date, leaving the teams' Big 12 opening series tied at 1-1.
The weather for the series had been cold all weekend as the teams played through soggy weather yesterday. However, a light overnight snow and forecasted temperatures below 40 all day prevented the series rubber match from being played.
OSU (19-4, 1-1) won the series opener on Friday in a 5-0 decision as a three-run homer by Zach Fish off BU starter Dillon Newman in the sixth inning was the difference. The Bears (11-13, 1-1) bounced back in a gritty 5-3 win in 12 innings on Saturday, though. A strong relief outing by Crayton Bare helped set up Logan Brown's game-winning RBI double in the 12th.
Baylor ends a four-game road trip on Tuesday at 6 p.m. CT in San Antonio against UT San Antonio before welcoming Kansas State to Baylor Ballpark this weekend to begin an 11-game home stand.
