Police barricade home of armed suspect

Posted:
COPPERAS COVE -

A two hour standoff between police and a suspect ended late Thursday morning. Police were called out to a home in the 1200 block of S. 15th Street at 9:50 a.m. after they learned of a suicidal male was armed with a weapon.

When police arrived, the man refused to come out of the home to speak with officers and told police that he would harm himself if they tried to come in the home.

Police established a perimeter around the home and negotiators began a talking with him by phone.

The subject came out of the home voluntarily at 11:37 a.m. and was transported to Metroplex Hospital for evaluation. The home was cleared and no one else was found in the home at the time of the incident.

No injuries were reported from the incident.
