HEWITT -
An early morning chain reaction wreck on Interstate 35 just south of Hewitt has halted traffic Thursday. DPS trooper D.L. Wilson says the accident happened in the northbound lane around 7:45 a.m.
Six vehicles were involved in the collision, including two 18-wheelers and four personal vehicles. One woman was hurt and taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
Clean up crews from Grones Environmental are cleaning around 100 gallons of diesel fuel spilled out onto the roadway. The rest of the wreckage is being pushed onto the service roads.
At one point, traffic was backed up as far as seven miles. Crews are expect to be cleaning the debris until noon.
