HARKER HEIGHTS -

A three hour standoff near a Nolanville elementary school ended without incident Tuesday afternoon.

Harker Heights police were notified at 9:58 a.m. about a female threatening to commit suicide. Initially, the female refused to speak to a Fort Hood advocacy representative.

Police found the woman in a vehicle at 10 a.m. on the 900 block of Warriors Path. The victim showed officers a handgun, refused to get out of a vehicle and threatened to kill herself.

Officers blocked off the road, and a Harker Heights Police Department negotiator was able to calm the victim down. The standoff ended at 1 p.m.

The incident occurred behind Nolanville Elementary School, but the school was never locked down.

No charges are pending at this time, and the woman's name is not being released at this time.
