CONROE, Texas (AP) - Authorities searching for a Houston-area jail escapee are focusing on some woods after deputies received reports of a suspicious man in the area.
The Montgomery County Sheriff's Office says 40-year-old Britt Chadvurn Privatte of Sugar Land remained at large Monday. Lt. Dan Norris says Privatte might be wearing boxer shorts and a long-sleeve T-shirt.
Privatte was unaccounted for Sunday afternoon. Investigators believe Privatte, who was last seen in a recreation area, scaled a wall and broke through some fencing to the roof.
Norris says man with a similar description was seen overnight near a wooded area not far from the jail in Conroe.
Privatte was among three people arrested following a January bank robbery. He was being held on charges of escape, aggravated robbery and burglary.
