Rigorous Hiring Process
NetCom Learning has a rigorous interview and hiring process for all new prospective instructors. Eugenia Bachaleda states that the hiring process is taken very seriously at NetCom Learning and that it starts with an in depth interview with her. This interview is then followed by the production of a teaching demo which is evaluated by a team of training coordinators to see the individual’s presentation skills, and teaching style. A subject matter expert will then meet with the applicant to verify that the applicant has the required skills in their area of subject expertise to be able to teach a class. Candidates that make it to the next step are then they must take an intensive train the trainer instructional class to ensure they are prepared to teach in the NetCom Learning style. This training is followed by a co-teaching step where the new instructor is paired with an experienced NetCom Learning teacher. According to Eugenia, the process of evaluation of instructors does not end there but includes a continuous assessment which allows the instructors to improve their skills on an ongoing basis. Instructors are also given specific training for both teaching online, in boot camps and in classroom settings.
The hiring and training process for instructors has worked to ensure that NetCom Learning teachers are top notch and well qualified. On average instructors have 16 years of experience in their area of expertise and training and a cumulative average of more than 10,500 years of experience. NetCom Learning instructors routinely achieve high ratings from their students with an average instructor evaluation of 8.6 out of 9, one of the highest instructor evaluations in the industry.
