TEMPLE -
Two Central Texas men have turned themselves after they are accused of breaking into a store and stealing beer last December. 21-year-old Darrell James Lynch and 20-year-old Christian Coon have both been charged with burglary of a building for the incident.
On January 15, officers were notified of the December burglary at Mickey's in the 9300 block of N. 317. Police were told that the suspect had entered the store by force after closing and stole beer. The offense had not been reported due to a lack of information or evidence at the time, until later.
During the follow up investigation officers learned that Lynch and Coon were allegedly at a party before the burglary. The two suspects went to the store to obtain beer for the party, but found that the store was closed.
Investigators determined that Lynch used a rock to break the front window of the store and removed two cases of beer. Coon is accused of operating the vehicle at the time of the offense.
Law enforcement officials obtained a warrant for their arrest on March 8. Coon turned himself in on Wednesday and Lynch did the same on Friday morning.
