DALLAS (AP) - The Big 12 women's tournament could be like the regular season: an exercise to determine who finishes second to Baylor.
Brittney Griner and the defending national champion Lady Bears (29-1, 18-0 Big 12) have won a record 46 consecutive games in the league. Coach Kim Mulkey says the Lady Bears' goal is to win another trophy.
For the first time, the Big 12 women's and men's tournaments will be played in different towns.
The women start Friday night at the American Airlines Center in Dallas. Texas and Kansas State play first, with the winner advancing to play Baylor on Saturday. The championship game is Monday night.
