BELLMEAD -
A 39-year-old man faces charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon after getting into a fight with his wife Tuesday. John William Watson is accused of holding a knife to his wife's throat.
A child separated the Watson and his wife, and Watson ran out of the house. He ran to a nearby school behind his property.
Police were able to arrest him near H.P. Miles Middle School. During the incident, the middle school was briefly locked down.
Watson is in the McLennan County Jail, and his bond will be set soon.
