Heisman trophy winner and former Baylor standout Robert Griffin III will return to Central Texas Friday for the dedication of a street in his honor in his hometown of Copperas Cove.

The ceremony at 2 p.m. will officially dedicate Robert Griffin III Boulevard at the northwest corner of Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard and the 5 Hills Shopping Center near the new HEB.

The Washington Redskins quarterback and his family are expected to attend the event, along with officials from the Cove Economic Development Corporation, the City of Copperas Cove, Fort Hood, the Chamber of Commerce, Copperas Cove ISD and Endeavor Real Estate Group, the developers of the center.

The public is invited to attend and should use the Robert Griffin III entrance.  Police officers will be on hand to direct attendees to the parking areas.
