WACO -
A Baylor University student died Sunday morning after he landed on his head during a dance rehearsal. Freshman Kevin Signo was attempting to complete a back flip when he landed on his head Saturday night.
According to a Baylor chaplain, he died at 4 a.m. Sunday morning from those injuries.
Signo was a pre-biology major from Frisco. According to the university, he was very involved in the university's Filipino Student Association. That group was having a meeting and practicing some of their traditional dances. Then during a break, Signo tried to perform the flip and suffered the freak injury.
Other students were there and went with him to the hospital, where he passed away. There was a gathering on campus for him yesterday, and Baylor is offering counseling to affected students and staff.
Visitation will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. on Friday March 8 at Turrentine, Jackson & Morrow Funeral Home in Allen, TX. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday March 9 at the same funeral home.
