WACO - A 19-year old Waco man who robbed a Domino's Pizza store in 2011 was sent to prison for 36 years in a sentencing retrial late Thursday evening.
Alexis Bo Perez, 19, learned his fate about two hours after the jury sent a note to 19th District Court judge Ralph Strother saying they could not come to an agreement on a sentence. Strother said Perez could serve the sentences concurrently.
The same jury that convicted him earlier in February could not agree on a sentence, so a mistrial was declared for the punishment phase only.
Perez had walked into that pizza store on Wooded Acre s Drive, flashed a handgun and then demanded money.
Police used a stolen cell phone to track the getaway car to a house in the 58-hundred block of Edmond in Waco. Drugs, a stolen shotgun and the weapon used in the robbery were found, along with a bundle of cash.
He was charged with robbery and burglary. A woman, 23-year old Jessica Marie Delgado, was also found guilty in connection with the stolen shotgun.
