Four Waco firefighters were recognized Thursday for their bravery. Lance Beatty, David Sauer, Lex Hayes and Michael Ball were recognized for their courageous attempts to save victims in a fire that happened over a year ago on N. 19th Street in Waco.
Chief John Johnston recommended the firemen for the award.
"Everybody operates being recognize for what they do, but I guess that's what not your motivation behind your job, I mean it's enjoyable career by anybody's standards," Ball said.
Sadly, 27-year-old Ashley Dawn Rogers, her 4-year-old daughter and 8-month-old son died in the trailer home fire. Her 2-year-old son was saved from the fire.
The four firefighters will now be considered for a national award.
