WACO -
A 22-year-old man is arrested after attacking his wife and 2-month-old child early Saturday morning. The incident occurred at 12:30 a.m. in the 900 block of Speight.
Police say Bawi Hlei Kham and his 37-year-old wife were involved in an argument when Kham is accused of attacking her with a pestle. Police say Kham struck her on the head and in the face.
During the altercation the female victim was holding a 2-month-old child and during the attack she dropped the child twice.
When police arrived on the scene, the woman was taken to the hospital with significant head and facial injuries and the baby was taken to the hospital with head injuries.
Kham has been charged of aggravated assault family violence and injury to a child.
