Man gropes officer when taken into custody

MCGREGOR -

A man is facing more charges after groping a female McGregor officer while he was taken into custody for a previous crime. Edward Wayne Johnson Jr. has been charged for assault on a peace officer and indecent exposure for the December 5 offense.

Police say the female McGregor officer was taking Johnson into custody on a warrant out of Brown County. As he was being handcuffed, Johnson is accused of groping the officer's private parts on multiple occasions.

Johnson was then placed in the patrol car, and managed to disrobe himself.

He was booked into jail for the out of county warrant, and by the time McGregor police got the warrant to serve on him on the new charges, he had bonded out on the original charge.

Johnson was later found in Llano County and brought back on the new charges.
