A local man has been transported to the hospital following an afternoon stabbing in Waco. The incident occurred early in the afternoon at the 900 block of Burgan.
Police responded to the intersection of Clifton St. and E. Waco Dr. at around 12:20 p.m. When a detective arrived on the scene, the victim was getting into a vehicle and left the scene. A second vehicle followed behind, and appeared to be chasing the victim.
Officers stopped the suspect's vehicle at the intersection of Lenox and Turner and detain 41-year-old Roy Ross.
Police were later informed by the victim, 34-year-old Omora Rashard Giles, that he had called ETMC and was with the ambulance at 18th and Reuter.
Police believe Giles and Ross were in an argument over a woman. The argument escalated and resulted into Giles being stabbed multiple times.
Giles had injuries to his hands, arm, neck and head. He was transported to Hillcrest Baptist Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries. Ross was transported to McLennan County Jail and has been charged with aggravated assault.
