MCLENNAN COUNTY -
A portion of a McLennan County Road near the North Bosque River will be closing. Commissioners voted Monday morning to shorten Del-Mar Ranch Road, so that it does not extend beyond its intersection with Deer Run Road.
The road currently runs to the North Bosque River, but the area has not been maintained since the lower water crossing was washed out in 1991.
Area residents wanted the road closed, but closing the stretch of road would put an end to public access to the river.
Property owners in the area say people have abused the privilege of river access by leaving trash and making too much noise late at night.
