Temple woman accused of stabbing father of her child

An 18-year-old Temple woman has been arrested for stabbing the father of her child. Serena Luna Rodriguez was found at a home in the 1600 block of South 39th Street at 4:50 p.m. on Wednesday.

Police were sent to the home for a domestic disturbance call where one person had been stabbed. When officers arrived they found Rodriguez being restrained by a man and  she was arrested without incident.

Officers found the victim lying on the ground near a vehicle with serious stab wounds to his upper torso. Officers rendered first aid to the victim until paramedic units arrived and transported the victim to Scott and White Hospital for treatment.

An initial investigation says the victim came to the Rodriguez's home to pick up their child. While at the home, Rodriguez approached the vehicle while the victim was sitting inside.

When the victim opened the door to speak with Rodriguez, she pulled out a knife from her pocket. Rodriguez then stabbed the victim several times in the upper torso before being restrained by the victim's father.

Rodriguez was taken to Bell County Jail and charged with aggravated assault on a family member.
