The Bell County Sheriff’s Office Loses Training License

Posted:

Bell County's former training director was falsifying documents, prompting TCLEOSE to investigate their training practices.

Sheriff Eddy Lange was aware of the investigation but was unsure of the possible outcome. Three weeks ago, TCLEOSE stripped the Bell County Sheriff's Office of their jail academy training license and has placed them on a two-year suspension.

The Bell County Sheriff's Office will now be required be supervised by a parent training agency. Most training will continue in Bell County, but the law enforcement licenses will come from the parent agency.

After two years, the Sheriff's Office will be able to decide whether or not they want to renew their accreditation with TCLEOSE.
