Local woman found operating Internet scam

WACO, TX (KXXV) -

A local woman is arrested after using a Clifton woman's identity online for money. Sarina Renee Ozuna was arrested on a Bosque County warrant for the picture of another woman on multiple social networking sites.

Ozuna is accused of creating web pages with the victim's picture and false names. Some of the victim's biographical information was included with minor variations.

After attracting male "friends" on the Internet, Ozuna is accused of telling stories of having hard times and enticing the readers of the sites to send her money. In one case, she had someone send her a laptop computer.

Friends of the victim spotted her picture on some of these sites in August of 2012 which triggered the investigation. Authorities say this type of scam has been done before with the victim's picture in 2009.

It was not known how much money Ozuna had raised from the scheme.

Ozuna has been taken to the McLennan County Jail.
