Local residents prepare for Chris Kyle procession

Posted:
WACO -

About a dozen people gathered at Poppa Rollo's Pizza in Waco Monday night to make posters and signs for people to hold up as Chris Kyle's motorcade comes through town Tuesday.

Tennyson Middle School teacher, Mary Duty, says she's planning to take about 30 to 40 of her students to stand in honor as the procession makes its way through Waco between 9 and 10 a.m.

People driving on Interstate 35 Tuesday morning should know that Waco police will block access ramps to the southbound lanes starting and ending at the Waco city limits.

Patriot Guard Riders are expected to be on the southbound access road and will enter the procession at the on ramp near Hillcrest Baptist Medical Center.

The procession may cause some back up in and along the route.

People driving on Interstate 35 are not allowed to pass the funeral procession. Police ask drivers, who encounter the procession, to pull over to the side of the road and wait for the procession to pass.
