Local man dies after weekend motorcycle crash

WACO, TX (KXXV) -

A 56-year-old Waco man has died from injuries he suffered in a late Friday night motorcycle accident. Robert Darnell Garrett was involved in a single vehicle accident in the 3200 block of N. 18th Street around 10:50 p.m.

Police say Garrett had been driving a 2000 Yamaha motorcycle southbound on 18th Street and failed to negotiate the curve. He was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.

Authorities also say that failure to control speed was listed as a factor in the crash.

Garrett was transported by ETMC to Hillcrest Baptist Medical Center, and was pronounced dead Saturday morning by Judge DeCluitt.
