Man accused of strangulating ex-girlfriend

CORYELL COUNTY -

A Coryell County man faces assault charges after a domestic dispute with his ex-girlfriend turned violent Saturday night. Eric Dominguez Uribe has been booked into Coryell County Jail for attempting to strangle his ex-girlfriend.

The incident occurred Saturday night just before midnight at a home in the 200 block of Old Pidcoke Road just west of Gatesville. Deputies were called to the home for a domestic disturbance that had been ongoing throughout the day.

The female victim told her then-boyfriend that their relationship was over. At one point, the couple got into a wrestling match over the victim's purse and ended up on the ground.

Uribe is accused of putting his hands around the victim's throat, and caused her to lose consciousness. The victim was not transported to hospital, but treated on the scene.
