Robinson man accused of assault, attempts to evade police

A Robinson man is arrested after brutally assaulting a 24-year-old Belton man in the head Friday night. Police arrested 21-year-old Casey Allen Anderson and charged him with aggravated assault and evading arrest.

The incident occurred about 9:30 p.m. Friday night at a home in the 1400 block of South 26th St. Anderson and the victim were visiting at a mutual friend's house on South 26th St., when they got into an argument.

The victim was punched violently in the face several times and was knocked out. While the victim was down, Anderson is said to have continued beating the victim in the face.

Witnesses to the incident attempted to pull Anderson off the victim, but he went back and kicked the victim in the face and head. Anderson then left the house, and the victim was transported to Hillcrest Baptist Medical Center with significant and severe injuries to the head and face.

While officers were investigating the incident, Anderson called for someone at the home to come pick him up at a park at 29th Street and Speight Ave.  Officers went to the location and took Anderson into custody after a foot chase.

Anderson is being held in the McLennan County Jail.
