TEMPLE -

A Temple woman is arrested after she attempted to hide a suspect from police on Tuesday. Carolona Yvette Sanders has been charged with hindering apprehension for hiding a suspect that lead police on a foot chase to her home.

Earlier in the day an officer on patrol conducted a traffic stop in the 800 block of S. 30th Street.  One person in the vehicle fled from the scene, and led officers on a foot pursuit. Police saw the suspect enter a home in the 700 block of S. 28th Street.

When officers arrived at the home they told Sanders they were chasing a suspect who had fled into the residence.  Police asked Sanders for permission to enter the home and take the suspect into custody.

Sanders refused the officer's request and told them that no one had entered the home.

Officers explained the incident to Sanders and requested permission to enter the home again, but was denied by Sanders.

Officers told Sanders that by refusing entry to arrest a suspect she would be charged with hindering apprehension.  Sanders refuse to allow the officers into the home again.

Police surrounded the home to prevent the suspect from escaping.

A search warrant was obtained to enter the home. Officers entered the residence and found the suspect inside the house, and arrested the suspect on an outstanding parole warrant.
