Motorcyclist dead after Monday night accident

A motorcyclist is dead after colliding with a car Monday night. The incident happened shortly after 8 p.m. at the intersection of Valley Mills and New Road in Waco.

Police determine that a 2012 Volvo drove onto Valley Mills attempting to go south. A 1999 Yamaha motorcycle, driven by 30-year-old Michael David Wright, was traveling north on Valley Mills and struck the Volvo in the side.

Wright was thrown off his motorcycle and onto the street. He was transported to Hillcrest Baptist Medical Center by ETMC where he was pronounced dead by at 8:34 p.m.

An autopsy was not ordered, and no charges have been filed at this time while the investigation is ongoing.
