Prosecution announced Friday they will not be seeking the death penalty for a woman who was involved in the killing of her mother on October 13, 2008. Yolanda Renee Leonard Lind was indicted in June and charged on three counts.
She was charged with two capital murder charges for stabbing and cutting her mother, Rebecca Leonard, and aggravated assault. Rebecca was stabbed to death in her west Waco home in 2008 along with her boyfriend Jerry Patterson.
He survived the attack.
Yolanda's boyfriend, Jeremy Lowrey was also charged and admitted to two counts of attempted capital murder and capital murder.
