WOODWAY -

A 19-year-old man attempts to flee from police after they find drugs and stolen property in a vehicle he is driving in Tuesday morning. Thomas James Hurtt has been arrested and charged with possession of marijuana, four other counts of possession of a controlled substance and resisting arrest.

Woodway officers made an initial traffic stop on a 2002 Chevy vehicle on Willow Bend Drive about 12:45 a.m. During an interview with Hurtt, police determined there was marijuana in the car. Hurtt then fled the scene on foot.

The foot pursuit ended when officers deployed a taser on him.

Quantities of marijuana, methamphetamines and heroin were recovered from the vehicle along with property suspected of being stolen. The suspect's vehicle was impounded.
