A 28-year-old Mexia man is sentenced to life in prison for fatally shooting his father in 2011. The Associated Press reports that Chad Michael Musgrove was convicted of capital murder.
In 2011, police in Panorama Village, near Houston, were tipped off about Musgrove after Nancy Few told them she was abducted by him. Few then told Panorama Village Police about the shooting in Mexia.
Those officers contacted Mexia Police, who discovered the body of Patterson on the floor of his home at 1326 East Carthage Street. Patterson had apparently been shot multiple times. The suspect Musgrove was later identified as his son.
Panorama Village Police then tracked down Musgrove, and with the help of the Montgomery SWAT Team they took him into custody a short time later. Musgrove was charged with murder.
All three of the people involved apparently lived together in Mexia.
