WACO -
An elderly man was car jacked in broad daylight outside a Waco nursing home, Friday.
83 year-old George Coffey was coming to visit his niece who worked at the Woodland Spring Nursing Center. Waco police said witness told them he was attacked after pulling into a handicapped parking spot.
Two suspects, one male and one female, assaulted Coffey as he was getting out of his car, striking him on the face with the car door and then hitting him with the car as they fled the scene.
Coffey suffered minor injuries and was taken to the Hillcrest Baptist Medical Center to be looked at.
Waco police are searching for Coffey's late model Mercury Marquis. No arrests have been made at this time.
Coffey's niece, Carla Johnson, said she has worked at the nursing home for 14 years and her uncle often visited her.
