TEMPLE -
The city of Temple is in the process of reviewing proposals for a facility that would fuel their future energy efficient waste trucks. The city approved in December the purchase of 14 compressed natural gas-powered heavy duty vehicles that would cost a little over $3.3 million.
The city is currently reviewing proposals from private companies that would design, construct, and maintain the facility with little or no financial impact on residents. The project to construct a fueling station is expected to cost around $1.3 million.
City council will meet again within 60 days with a definitive recommendation. The trucks and fuel station is expected to be operational in late 2013.
