Authorities arrest two for illegal drug activity

Authorities arrested two people for possession of narcotics and money laundering on Wednesday. 28-year-old Tyrell Deshun McKamey and 25-year-old Stacey Marie Dudley have both been transported to McLennan County Jail after a they were found in a home with the illegal items.

DPS Criminal Investigation Division officers and US Marshals entered a home in the 5700 block of Hawthorne Dr. in an attempt to serve arrest warrants for a wanted fugitive.  While in the home, the officers saw evidence of illegal drug activity, and secured the location and obtained a state search warrant before re-entering the residence. 

Officers recovered a quantity of heroin and over five pounds of marijuana in the home. They also found $5,357 in US currency, a Smith & Wesson .40 caliber handgun and a Taurus >.40 caliber handgun. 

McKamey is being charged with possession of a controlled substance, possession of marijuana over five pounds, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, theft of a firearm and money laundering. 

Dudley is also being charged with possession of a controlled substance, possession of marijuana over five pounds and money laundering.  Both remain in the jail at this time
