WACO -
Two suspects have been arrested in connection to a sex assault that occurred Sunday night. Police arrested 18-year-old Resendo Lara-Zapata and a 15-year-old juvenile after they were notified about the incident around 9:30 p.m.
A witness picked up the victim in the north Waco area and notified police about the incident. Officers discovered the victim had been sexually assaulted in a backyard or alley near the intersection of 9th and Colcord, and police believe the victim may have known her attackers.
Lara-Zapata was transported to McLennan County Jail and the juvenile suspect was taken to the Juvenile Center. The victim was taken to Hillcrest for treatment.
