TEMPLE -
Fire investigators are trying to figure out what sparked an early morning fire Sunday. Temple firefighters were called out to a home that was engulfed in flames along the 1600 block of Lightner Lane.
Strong winds and the lack of a power line made battling the blaze difficult. Crews were able to knock down the fire before it could spread to neighboring homes.
Officials say the home was vacant and the cause looks to be electrical in nature. Due to the extensive damage done to the home the city was forced to demolish the structure.
