A local man is facing charges after he tried to take a police officer's weapon.
Waco officers were called to the 1800 block of LaPorte Avenue in Waco around noon on Wednesday. They were originally dispatched to the home in regards to a domestic disturbance call.
Whey they tried to take Elijah Torrez into custody, he struggled with officers and at one point tried to take an officer's weapon. He was subdued and taken to the McLennan County Jail.
Torrez is facing charges for attempting to take a weapon from a peace officer and resisting arrest.
