Questionable death leads to drug raid and arrest in Bosqueville

A questionable death that was likely drug related led to a raid Wednesday morning and the arrest of a Bosqueville man, 48-year old David William Sirbasku.

With the help of SWAT team members and other law enforcement agencies, McLennan County Sheriff Parnell McNamara's new Organized Crime Unit executed a search warrant at an upscale home in the 8400 block of Rock Creek Road.

That's the same home sheriff's deputies were called to at 1 a.m. Saturday morning.

That's when deputies found 28-year-old Lauren Darby dead in the bathtub. Chief Deputy Matt Cawthon said her head was underwater and her legs were hanging outside the tub.  Needles were around her body. That was enough to obtain a search warrant for an investigation.

Sirbasku was at the house when the body was found, and again this morning when deputies entered the home.  Cawthon said "This today was the culmination of that investigation and resulted in the seizure earlier today inside the residence of methamphetamine, heroin and black tar heroin and [we] seized a late model BMW."

The car belonged to Sirbasku, who now faces drug charges.  He's the son of the late James L. Sirbasku, the co-founder of the well known Waco company Profiles International.  David William Sirbasku was a Vice President of Business Intelligence at that company until November 9th.  A spokesperson there would not say whether he was terminated or resigned.

At this time, he's not facing charges for Darby's death, but he is being questioned. The sheriff's office is waiting on results of an autopsy report.
