KILLEEN - Police made an arrest Tuesday in the convenience store shooting last week that left a Fort Hood soldier dead and two other men critically wounded.
Killeen 17-year old Terry Grant Scott was taken into custody Tuesday near Metropolitan and Trimmier and has been charged with murder.
Detectives say they received information during the course of their investigation that led them to Scott and his whereabouts.
He's accused of opening fire on three men in an SUV in the parking lot of the Star Mart convenience store at 1704 Old FM 440 on Wednesday afternoon.
One of those men, Fort Hood soldier Austin James Sampson, 25, of New York, died at Scott & White hospital. The other two victims were rushed to Carl R. Darnall Army Medical Center in critical condition.
Witnesses say a black male with dreads got out of a white Lincoln Town car, approached the victims vehicle and started firing.
Killeen police told News Channel 25 at this point they have no more suspects but the investigation is ongoing. A motive has not been released.
As of 8 p.m. Tuesday, Scott had still not been booked into the Bell County Jail.
