A man in Gatesville is arrested after he is caught burglarizing a home and confesses what he did to police. Austin Blake Botkin has been charged with burglary of a habitation and burglary of a building.

Gatesville Police were dispatched to 506 S. 6th Street in reference to a burglary on November 17, 2012.  During the investigation, officers were told that a variety of tools and other items had been taken from a residence and an out building.

Neighbors reported seeing Botkin removing property from the residence and out building.  When police interviewed the suspect, he confessed to the burglary, and much of the property has been recovered.

A warrant for Botkin was issued on January 3, and he was arrested Monday without incident. The case is still under investigation and additional arrests are still possible.
