Mexia woman fatally stabbed, suspect identified

Police have arrested the suspect responsible for murdering a Mexia woman on New Year's Day. The incident occurred at about 2:04 a.m. on the 300 block of Wilson Street. A man who has identified himself as Manuel Armando Gonzalez has been charged with murder.

When police arrived on the scene they found 40-year-old Christina Flores, who had suffered several stab wounds. Flores told police that she been stabbed by Gonzalez. Police went to a nearby home on the 300 block of Wilson Street and took Gonzalez into custody. 

Flores was taken by ambulance to Parkland Hospital in Dallas, and was later pronounced dead.
