Homeless man arrested twice for smashing windows

A homeless man is arrested twice in one day for smashing windows at a Temple restaurant and police station on New Year's Day. Danny Gilkey was arrested at about 5:45 a.m. Tuesday after he threw rocks through windows at the Olive Garden on South General Bruce Drive in Temple.

Gilkey then went across the street to the McDonalds and told them to call the police. Officers arrested Gilkey and took him to the Temple police station.

Authorities could not make contact with Olive Garden representatives to receive a victims statement, and released Gilkey until a warrant was obtained. After his release, Gilkey went outside and smashed two windows at the police station, and was promptly arrested again and taken to jail.
