AAA and Waco Transit offers transportation service on New Year's Eve

Posted:
WACO -

The American Automobile Association (AAA) and Waco Transit are offering complimentary transportation services for people who become too intoxicated to drive on New Year's Eve.

AAA say statistics show that traffic-related fatalities increase significantly around the holidays, so AAA Texas sponsors a complimentary Tipsy Tow service. The service offers free rides to drivers who have been drinking.

The Tipsy Tow service provides a complimentary ride and vehicle tow up to three miles from the point of pickup to drivers who have consumed alcohol on New Year's Eve. The service is available to members and non-members by calling 1-800-AAA-HELP [222-4357].

Waco Transit and Tow King is offering a similar service for free. Residents can use Waco Transit for a ride home by calling 254-750-1620 and Tow King will tow their car home for them. If anyone would like a ride to and from a set destination using Waco Transit, they ask that people should call the number and make reservations by 5 p.m.
