
SAN DIEGO (AP) - Niki DiGuilio scored 21 points to help Central Michigan upset No. 20 Texas 73-65 in the consolation game of the Maggie Dixon Surf N Slam Classic on Sunday.
DiGuilio was 5 of 8 from 3-point range. Jessica Schroll added 14 points for Central Michigan (6-6).
Central Michigan led 30-23 at halftime. The Longhorns (7-4) cut the lead to four in the second half, but Central Michigan kept the lead.
Texas shot 44% from the field for the game, besting Central Michigan, which shot 35.5%. Texas also won the rebound battle 46-32. But Texas made 24 turnovers, almost doubling the amount made by Central Michigan, who made 22 points off those Texas turnovers.
Imani McGee-Stafford led the Longhorns with 18 points, 16 rebounds and four blocks. Chassidy Fussell had 17 points.
